This position requires a high level of critical thinking as they will also be involved in identifying and developing process improvements. This position also coordinates with other departments within VPI to provide a high level of customer service and effective communication to both internal and external customers. They will also serve as full back up support to the other department project coordinators as needed. Job Description RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Supervisor/Manager Core Job Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assists all of the Group Accounts Field Representatives in preparing the group customer for an effective sales campaign. These duties include: successful on boarding of new accounts, producer contracts, broker changes, lead assignments, record maintenance, group inquiries and other general support activities, all while exercising critical thinking to accomplish these tasks with minimal support. 2. Records all sales related activities in the department CRM system and ensures that all other systems are kept in synch with it. 3. Maintains ongoing metrics reports for new and deactivated accounts to track progress and trending of business. Provides various sales activity reports for TPA's, Brokers and Direct accounts. Assist with any other project reports as needed. 4. Functions as a liaison between the Inside Sales call center, Finance, IT and Legal departments by answering questions on both new and existing accounts. These may include: group inquiries, record maintenance, web links and monitoring broker license requirements. 5. Provides input into business requirements documentation and actively participates in User Acceptance testing as needed. Understands and has the ability to train business processing procedures for business initiatives and ensures necessary changes to systems/processes/organizations are completed in a timely manner. 6. Participates and/or leads special projects as assigned by management, meeting or exceeding given deadlines. 7. Participates in all team activities. Participates in critical thinking strategies to identify process improvements and leads efforts to make identified improvements. 8. Able to work with the marketing and administration teams for effective communication with new groups. Responsible for maintaining most current versions of the various templates for the field team, (e.g., broker and marketing agreements, group applications, etc). 9. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education: Undergraduate studies in Business, Communication, or related field is preferred Experience: Three to five years of related experience in Business, Customer Care Relationship Management, Sales and or Sales Support preferably in the insurance industry. Knowledge: General understanding of the basic process of selling a group (to offer pet insurance) and driving participation within that group. Must understand the basic concepts of an insurance policy, such as quoting, binding, endorsements and paying premium. Intermediate skill levels in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn new applications with onthejob training. Must be able to communicate professionally both in email and verbally (meetings and phone). Skills/Competencies: The candidate must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos as well as business correspondence. Have the ability to effectively present information to policyholders, applicants, management, small groups, group contacts and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Have the ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
